A. Many have found it hard to adjust to the changes from a Soviet economy to a free economy but this doesn't account for the high number of teen suicides. It usually peaks in the spring. The winters are long and dark which doesn't help. Before Lithuania was no1 it was Finland - mainly due to the long dark winters. There is also a pessimistic side to the Lithuanian character, a high expectation at exam time and there is a strong drink culture. Personally I've found them to be extremely accident prone...
